Call of Duty 2 is a first-person shooter with a single-player story mode and a multiplayer mode. Players embody some of the Allied protagonists in specific World War II missions. The player can crouch and lie on his stomach as well as can climb low walls and other obstacles.
The player can carry two guns and can exchange them for other guns found on the battlefield. The gun’s iron sights can be used for more precise aiming. Can carry fragmentation grenades and smoke grenades. Implanted weapons such as machine guns and anti-aircraft guns are available in some locations. Some missions put the player in control of a tank
If the player takes heavy damage, the screen will turn red and the character’s heartbeat sound will increase in volume; These indicate that the player’s health is low. Health is only restored through auto-reload when the player does not catch fire. Some attacks will kill the player instantly, such as nearby explosions from grenades or shells. Dead players will restart from the last checkpoint.
In April 2006, Infinity Ward released Call of Duty 2 Radiant, allowing players to create their own multiplayer or single player maps. The map builder includes support for the Maya plugin, an effects editor, and a content manager that allows for the creation and import of custom models into the game, as well as custom effects.
