ABOUT
lden Ring is a third-person action and role-playing game focused on combat and exploration. It includes elements similar to other games developed by FromSoftware such as the Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro series:
Darkness dies twice. The game takes place in an open world; Players are free to explore the Lands Between and its six main areas, including the Limgrave, a grassy plain and ancient ruins, and Caelid, a wasteland inhabited by undead monsters. Open-world areas are explored using the character’s Torrent Mountain as the primary mode of travel; The player can also use the fast movement ability outside of combat. Throughout the game, the player encounters non-player characters (NPCs) and enemies, including demigods that rule each of the main regions and act as the game’s main boss. The Elden Ring also includes hidden dungeons, catacombs, tunnels, and caves where players can battle bosses and collect useful items.
At the start of the game, the player chooses a character class, which determines their initial spells, equipment, and attributes. Fight enemies that can be melee or ranged using ranged weapons or spells. Enemy attacks can be dodged or blocked with shields. In the Elden Ring, magic allows the player to upgrade weapons, fight enemies from a distance, and restore lost hit points. The player can memorize a limited number of these spells, which can be performed using a staff or sign. Weapons in the Elden Ring can be upgraded using Ashes of War, which are achievable “enchantments” that give the weapon new abilities. Ashes of War can be applied to or removed from weapons, and each Ash adds a Weapon Arts, a special ability that can be used in combat. Besides direct combat, the stealth mechanism can be used to evade enemies or allow targeting enemies with critical hits while hiding.
